RUTH Kelly visited the Asda store at Middlebrook Retail Park to see how it has helped raise funds to help fight breast cancer.
Asda stores nationwide have raised £16 million for the Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Campaign since the supermarket's Tickled Pink campaign began 11 years ago.
The campaign, which runs every September, raises money to support the 44,000 women and 350 men affected by the disease every year, and research into fighting the disease.
Shoppers at the Horwich store have bought products from a special Tickled Pink range to help raise money.
Staff have held events including a golf putting green for customers and a day in the stocks for managers.
The store raised just over £2,100.
Ms Kelly, the Bolton West MP and Transport Secretary, said: "I was delighted to see for myself what the people in my constituency had been doing for such a worthwhile cause."
Praising the efforts of staff and customers, she added that the money raised would make a "real difference" to people's lives.
