The families of two teenagers killed when their car hit a tree in Bolton have paid tribute to their sons.
Schoolfriends and rugby team-mates Daniel James Harrison, of Old Kiln Lane, Heaton, and Jonathan Sharples, of Lazonby Avenue, Aspull, who were both aged 17, died following the collision in Old Kiln Lane yesterday.
Daniel's mother Amanda, father Steven and sister Emma said in a statement released by the police: "Daniel has touched so many lives and will leave a massive void."
Jonathan's dad David and mum Catherine issued the following tribute: "He was everyone's friend and always looked after his mates.
"His friends came first and he was always there for them. He will be sadly missed."
The tragedy occurred when their blue Ford Ka collided with a tree.
Daniel was pronounced dead at the scene and Jonathan, was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital suffering from serious injuries. He later died.
Jonathan attended Our Lady's Primary School in Aspull, before going to Cleveland Preparatory School on Chorley New Road, Bolton.
He then went to Bolton School where he gained nine GCSEs and was studying A-Levels in business studies, English Literature, Geography and History.
He was a keen sportsman who represented his school at both football and rugby, playing in both first teams. It was while playing for the school rugby team that he met Daniel.
Jonathan also worked part-time at De Vere Hotel at the Reebok Stadium.
Daniel was born and bred in Bolton and lives in Old Kiln Lane, Bolton.
He leaves behind mother Amanda, father Steven and sister Emma, 14. He went to Markland Hill Primary School, Bolton, and then attended Bolton School where he was successful in attaining 10 GCSEs and was studying for A-Levels in French, Russian and Geography.
He was very keen on rugby and had been playing since he was four-years-old. He played for Bolton Rugby Club where he was twice player of the year. He also played prop forward for Bolton School for the last seven years.
