BOLTON DJ Sara Cox is to go on maternity leave next month and Radio 1 bosses have announced her replacement.

DJ Annie Mac will take over the Saturday and Sunday afternoon shows until Sara, pictured, who is having her second child, returns in September.

Sara, aged 33, who grew up in Little Lever, announced her second pregnancy to listeners of her show.

She is a former pupil of Smithills and Canon Slade schools and has been dating advertising executive Ben Cyzer for a year.

Sara and her ex-husband, Jon Carter, have a three-year-old daughter, Lola.

Last year Sara said marrying Cyzer was not on the cards.
