PEOPLE in Bolton will spend more than one year of their life having a lie-in, according to a survey carried out by fast food chain Subway Sleepy residents slip back under the covers for the equivalent of five days, or 128 hours a year.

The sandwich company commissioned a poll into people's morning habits, to co-incide with it launching a new breakfast range.

The research found that the average Bolton resident spends 27 extra minutes in bed during the week and at least half an hour at weekends.

The late starts mean 75 per cent of people eat breakfast after 9.30am and a quarter skip the meal altogether everyday.

Juliette Kellow, the chain's nutritionist said: "It's understandable why so many of us to choose to lie-in, especially in winter.

"But breakfast is an extremely important meal, skipping it leaves blood sugars low making us hungry, tired, irritable and less able to concentrate."

Missing your lie in ticks all those boxes too, love.

Although, I have to admit I love Subway, so I don't care.
