THE Bolton News has welcomed a new business editor to its editorial team.

Nick Yates, aged 30, from Cheshire, joined the newspaper this week and will deliver daily news updates on Bolton's vibrant business community.

Nick, pictured, has spent the past year living in Sydney, Australia.

Before that, he ran the business desk at Isle of Man Newspapers after graduating from Sheffield University with a degree in business.

He said: "I am looking forward to getting involved with business in Bolton and Bury and providing a good variety of newspaper coverage for big and small companies alike. I'm still learning about the economy in this area and would be happy to speak to anyone with business news for me."

He added: "The Bolton and Bury Business Awards are going from strength to strength and I'm sure they'll be even bigger and better this year.

"There will also be a few changes to the business coverage during the next few months that will create a more comprehensive business offering for our readers."

Nick is a keen sportsman and plays cricket, football and golf, when time allows.

He also enjoys walking and the odd pint of real ale. He said: "Bolton is a lovely part of the world with lots going on and I'll be looking to indulge my passion for sport as soon as I've settled in."
