POLICE have issued CCTV images of two men they need to trace in connection with fuel thefts from a Bolton petrol station.
The men, driving cars with stolen number plates, targeted the Britannia service station in Kay Street at least four times between December 15 last year and January 15.
The men are also believed to have stolen fuel worth almost £700 from several other stations in Bolton and Salford.
CCTV cameras at the Britannia station caught the raiders in action on January 2 and they can be seen on film filling up and driving off.
Police recovered the two sets of stolen number plates in Walkden on January 14.
The plates were from cars whose owners lived in the Bolton and Heywood areas and who had reported them stolen earlier that month.
The men are also suspected to be involved in the theft of two plasma screen televisions, worth £300 each, from the Sainsbury's supermarket in Trinity Street, in December last year PC Faye Davies, of Bolton Police, said: "The sheer cheek of these men is astonishing. Somebody out there must recognise them, and we would urge you to come forward and speak to us if you do.
"You can talk to us anonymously if need be, but all you need to do is tell us where these men are, and we'll do the rest."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 5619 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
