BOLTON'S men are being urged to recycle their unwanted clothes by donating them to the British Heart Foundation.

Research carried out by the charity has revealed men are three times more likely than women to bin their clothes rather than recycle them.

The BHF shop in Newport Street is launching its Recycle For Life campaign and is urging the borough's men to donate their unwanted clothes.

Julie Clegg, area manager for BHF shops in the North-west, said: "Recycling has become a routine part of our daily lives. But many if us don't consider our unwanted clothes, shoes and household items as part of this.

"These items are vital to us and last year alone helped us raise more than £12.5 million to help fight heart disease. We'd really urge people to stop being rubbish and start recycling their good quality unwanted items but bringing them along to their local BHF Shop and recycle for life."
