A MOTORBIKE was destroyed by fire after it set alight on the hard shoulder of the M61.
The owner of the Kawasaki racing bike was forced to pull over near to the Bolton West services.
He noticed the bike had set on fire and dialled 999.
Crews from Chorley fire station arrived at the scene at 3.10pm yesterday. The bike was damaged beyond repair.
