FEATHERSTONE ROVERS 36, CENTURIONS 10: Leigh Centurions crashed out of the Northern Rail Cup at the Chris Moyles Stadium where they found Featherstone far too good.
The Centurions made an error from their very first set of possession, and Waine Pryce opened the scoring on 10 minutes for hosts.
Despite a spirited response that saw debutant Craig Johnson miss out on a try on the right and Adam Rudd halted on the line, Leigh badly lost their shape when Nathan McAvoy was carried from the field with a suspected dislocated kneecap.
Paul Handforth added a second Rovers try before Steve Maden was sent off for an innocuous challenge on Loz Wildbore with the referee citing use of the forearm.
Stuart Dickens kicked the penalty and, when Tommy Saxton picked his way through the Leigh defence moments later, the Centurions trailed 18-0. This was increased to 20-0 just before half-time when Dickens nudged a fourth goal.
The Centurions rallied after the break and Gareth Price and Johnson touched down, but further tries from Hanforth (2) and Andy Kain, followed by Dickens' seventh goal, ensured it was Rovers who progressed.
