SCHOOLCHILDREN helped to cut the ribbon when a supermarket reopened after a £200,000 refurbishment.
Pupils from St Catherine's CE Primary and Lord Street Community Primary, Horwich, were at the reopening of the town's Co-op in Winter Hey Lane.
Shop manager Wayne Whitehead presented the representatives of the schools with cheques for £100 to mark the occasion.
Anne Duckworth, the headteacher at St Catherine's, said: "We will use the money to buy some new plants for the children's vegetable garden."
The refitted shop has a new layout and decoration and has retained its cash machine and Paypoint till.
Mr Whitehead said: "I'm confident our shoppers will be delighted with our improvements, which will better meet all the community's daily grocery needs."
