DETECTIVES hunting a rapist who attacked 17-year-old girl as she walked home from a friend's house have received calls from the public.

The girl was walking along Frederick Street, Farnworth, at about 11.45pm on Thursday when a man approached her and asked her the time. When she took out her phone, he grabbed her, dragged her down a back street behind Manchester Road, near Lidl, and raped her.

Det Sgt Mike Gladwin, of Bolton CID, said: "We have had a couple of phone calls following the appeal in The Bolton News which we are now following up. I would like to thank those people for getting in touch and remind the public that they can still contact us if they have any information."

The attacker is in his 30s, about 5ft 9in tall, chubby, with crewcut hair which was growing out. He wore a blue jacket and had a local accent. Anyone with information should contact Bolton CID on 0161 856 5752 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Hope this young lady does'nt let this beast ruin her life and that she's being cared for by a loving family.I'd be first in the line to castrate him and not by chemical means either!!!!

My every sympathy to this young girl, but the sad fact is that the justice system in this country will probably try and blame her for wearing a short skirt or something, and then this piece of sh1t, even if convicted will be out again very soon.
