Lollipop lady killed by 'coughing fit' driver

A LOLLIPOP lady was knocked down and killed by a bus after the driver allegedly suffered a coughing fit in Salford, a court has heard.

Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court was told that Stephen Wilson, aged 57, of Coniston Grove, Salford, was behind the wheel when the incident happened on September 11, 2006.

Mrs Stephanie Davies had been on duty at traffic lights outside Seedley County Primary School in Liverpool Street, Salford, at around 3.10pm when the accident happened.

Wilson denies causing death by dangerous driving.
