A MAN arrested on suspicion of rape after an 85-year-old woman was attacked in her home is still being questioned.
The 22-year-old from Bolton was arrested on Friday morning and remains in police custody after Bolton magistrates granted a warrant for further detention last night.
He will undergo further questioning today.
Shortly before 1.10am on Friday, June 20, police received a report that a woman had been attacked and raped at her home in Smithills.
Detectives are still appealing for witnesses and if anyone has any information about the incident, which happened sometime after 10pm, or knows the person responsible for the attack please contact Bolton Major Incident Team on 0161 856 2197.
