TENSION was in the air as dozens of men and women sat hunched at tables.
Some clinked their gambling chips together, others “zoned out” with the help of headphones but they were all there for one thing — the chance to win £100,000.
They were competing in a national poker competition being held in Bolton this week.
The Grosvenor Casino, in Moor Lane in Bolton town centre, is hosting a week-long poker festival, which culminates this Sunday.
The main contest, where entrants have to pay £1,000 to enter, started on Thursday.
