AN APPEAL for more zombies is being made ahead of a world record attempt this weekend.
Hundreds of people are expected to descend on Hayward Leisure Centre dressed and made up to thrill on Saturday night.
They will join dancers across the world to perform Michael Jackson’s hit Thriller at the same time, in a bid to break the world record for the most people doing the iconic dance simultaneously.
Steve Clegg is organising Bolton’s first “Thrillerthon” and wants more people to get involved.
He said: “It’s not too late to join in — we are looking to get as many people as possible involved.
“They don’t have to be able to dance and you can learn the routine in a couple of hours using the internet.
“I’d urge people to just go for it and get involved, it’s something so different and will be fantastic fun.”
Last year more than 1,700 people took part in Thrill The World, which was started by Canadian dance instructor Ines Markelijevic in 2006.
Bolton will link up to the main event in Toronto for the countdown to the start of the performance at 7pm.
Money raised by the town’s event will go to Cancer Research UK, with some individuals being sponsored for other charities as well.
