Molten glass leak at factory

FIREFIGHTERS had to deal with a molten glass spillage at a factory in Hindley Green.
They attended PPG Glass in Leigh Road at around 9pm last night.
A furnace, containing 130 tonnes of molten glass, had cracked and the substance was leaking out.
Fire crews sprayed water on the liquid to cool it down as it came out.
