A SEX beast who fathered three children with his stepdaughter during an 11-year campaign of abuse has been jailed.

Andy Wilson raped, beat and sexually assaulted Bev Hitchen, telling her she was his “special girl”.

At the age of 13, she became pregnant with his first child. In the six years that followed, Miss Hitchen, now aged 20, suffered three miscarriages and gave birth to two more of Wilson’s children.

Yesterday, at Preston Crown Court, Judge Andrew Woolman branded him a sexual predator.

He jailed Wilson for 15 years, saying: “You have a total lack of understanding about what you have done and I can’t see you are expressing any remorse. Only time will tell if your victims are able to survive this in one piece. You are a danger to any young girl.”

Wilson, aged 36, of Marlbrook Walk, Great Lever, went on trial in February.

On the second day of the case — with the prosecution halfway through the opening address — he decided to enter guilty pleas on six charges.

The jury was discharged and Wilson, a former landscape gardener, admitted two rape offences, two counts of attempted rape, one of indecent assault, and one of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13. He had admitted four other sex offences involving the same victims before the trial started.

One of his victims was step-daughter, Miss Hitchen, who has waived her right to anonymity to speak out. He started to sexually abuse her at the age of eight. The assaults got progressively worse until Wilson started to rape Miss Hitchen at the age 11. From that point, the attacks were regular and brutal.

Wilson was arrested when another of his victims came forward last year. Miss Hitchen then found the strength to speak about her ordeal.

Wilson shocked the court yesterday by trying to justify his actions. He instructed his defence barrister to inform the judge that at least “he was not a sexual offender in the bushes, waiting to pounce”.

After Wilson was sentenced, Miss Hitchen said: “What he did is absolutely disgusting. I’m just grateful it’s all over and I can get on with my life.”

Wilson will stay on licence for 10 years after his release and will be on the sexual offenders’ register for life.

He was disqualified from working with children.
