A HUGE stash of police uniforms and equipment — which may have been used during a club raid in Walkden — have been found in a flat.
Police swooped on the property in Cottenham Lane, Lower Broughton, Salford, on Monday and found more than 100 PCSO uniforms, as well as hundreds of police batons, jackets, body armour, handcuffs and CS spray holders.
It is believed the uniforms, which had old Metropolitan police badges sewn on to them, were being sold on the streets of Manchester for hundreds of pounds.
Metropolitan Police uniforms and equipment were used in a violent burglary at the Royal British Legion in Walkden.
Raiders struck just before 2.15am on Monday at the club in Wilfred Road as the steward was closing up.
Two of the men were wearing high-visibility jackets with Police written on the back. They also had black and white police hats.
The men claimed to be police officers, and said they needed to search the club for drugs.
Two men, aged 45 and 36, have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and were being questioned by police.
