A MAN found dead in a train station car park has been identified by police.
Ben Cheung, aged 29, of Knightswood, Bolton, was found slumped in the car park at Lostock train station on Sunday, May 31.
It is believed he stabbed himself twice after driving to the station and getting out of his car.
Commuters who had just got off a train attempted to administer first aid at the scene before paramedics arrived just after 6pm but Mr Cheung died of his injuries.
Police were alerted by paramedics and forensic officers. They sealed off the scene and gathered evidence.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said an investigation has now ruled out any suspicious circumstances.
He added: “Officers are preparing a file which will be passed to the coroner.”
A Home Office post mortem examination has confirmed that Mr Cheung died from stab wounds.
Trains were told not to stop at the station on the evening of the incident, but normal services had resumed by the following morning.
No trains were cancelled and only one service was delayed.
