A CHARITY fundraiser in Bolton is set to turn rags to riches with a frock swap in aid of the NSPCC.
Organiser Leanne Carter from Astley Bridge is holding a credit crunch-busting fashion event on Tuesday, July 7, at The Last Drop Village Hotel in Bolton from 7.30pm.
Everyone is invited to go along with any unwanted clothes and accessories and swap them for new ones.
There will also be the chance to indulge in a range of complementary pamper treats — from massage to manicures, there really will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Tickets cost £10 and the first 50 people to buy a ticket will receive a free goody bag from beauty house, Guinot.
Leanne, aged 20, said: “Everyone likes buying new clothes but we’re all counting the pennies at the moment so the frock swap will give people the chance to refresh their wardrobes for minimum money. It’s a great way to shop and raise money for the NSPCC.”
The money raised will help the NSPCC’s services across the region which support children who have suffered abuse, neglect or cruelty. It will also benefit the NSPCC’s Child’s Voice Appeal which aims to raise £2.7 million in Greater Manchester to expand the ChildLine service and the NSPCC Helpline for adults who are concerned about a child.
Louise Ingham, community fundraising manager, said: “We rely on donations from the public, so the money raised at the frock swap really will make a difference.”
