Thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was stolen during a burglary in Bolton.
Thieves targeted a house on The Glen in Heaton while the occupants were on holiday between June 12 and June 37.
After forcing the kitchen window open and ripping the alarm of the wall, the thieves ransacked the house and stole a substantial amount of cash and numerous pieces of expensive jewellery.
They then used a set of house keys to let themselves out through the back door.
Police have now released pictures of some of the pieces of jewellery stolen and are appealing to anyone who is offered these items to call police immediately.
The jewellery is worth more than £70,000.
Detective Constable Bob Lane, from the Burglary Unit at Astley Bridge Police Station, said: "The victim has been collecting this jewellery for more than 30 years and is understandably absolutely distraught that her home has been invaded by these morally corrupt thieves and pieces of jewellery with an enormous sentimental and monetary value have been stolen.
"The thieves will probably look to profit from their criminality by selling these pieces on, so I would ask people to take a good look at the photographs and if they are offered anything resembling those items stolen, please get in touch with us immediately.
"Greater Manchester Police has launched Operation Storm to target prolific burglars and career-criminals like these who bring untold misery to their victims, and with the public's help we can bring these offenders to justice."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Burglary Unit at Bolton Police Station on 0161 856 5749 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
