TWIN bull calves are set to become the star attraction a farm — after being named after X Factor finalists John and Edward.

The new arrivals were born at Smithills Farm on Friday and owner Anthony Grimshaw thought it would be funny to name the animals after the talent show twins as “Jedward” mania sweeps the nation.

The boys have become the unlikely stars of the TV show with their lack of singing talent and wacky dance routines.

Mr Grimshaw said: “We thought it would be funny to name them after the twins on the TV.

“The bulls can’t sing either, and they have a bit of spiky hair.

“John and Edward seem to be attracting a lot of fans all over the country. I hope that the bulls become as popular and attract visitors down to the farm.”

Twin calves are rare — about eight cows out of every 100 would have two at once, said Mr Grimshaw.

The new Freisian Holstein brothers are already running around their paddock and their mother, Dainty Lass, is also doing fine, he added.

The real John and Edward are now favourites to win The X Factor and their odds have been slashed from 150-1 to just 4-1.
