TORY councillor Phil Ashcroft is hoping to prove a match for fierce quiz show host Anne Robinson when he appears on The Weakest Link tonight.
Cllr Ashcroft, who represents Hulton ward on Bolton Council, was filmed for the show in July at Pinewood Studios in London.
He and other contestants had to work together to build a chain of correct answers.
The further up the chain the team reached in each round, the more cash they won.
One contestant, the weakest link, is knocked out in each round.
Cllr Ashcroft, who is also a consultant at Travel Counsellors, is keeping tight-lipped about how successful he was on the programme, but said it was a fantastic experience.
The show will be screened on BBC1 at 5.15pm tonight.
