Ice cream van rape trial is adjourned

THE trial of an ice cream man accused of rape is set to resume on Monday.
Javed Iqbal, aged 42, of Bury New Road, Bolton, denies the alleged rape in the back of his ice cream van in May, 2006.
He was arrested this year as part of a routine traffic operation.
Iqbal, who is married with five children, claims the woman, a sex worker, tried to steal from him and only called police when he refused to hand over his takings.
His alleged victim earlier told the jury Iqbal raped her in his van and tried to run her over after the attack.
