A HOME has been wrecked after a fire broke out just after 4.30pm.
Philip Swire, and his daughter Bethany, aged 14, had a lucky escape from their house on Northlands, in Radcliffe.
A washing basket placed on top of the cooker caught light and the fire spread rapidly.
Mr Swire, aged 45, who had oxygen therapy at the scene, now needs to break the news to his wife, Ann, aged 41, who is in intensive care in hospital after an operation.
