St Bede CE Primary School is great!

WHEN inspectors visited St Bede CE Primary School, Morris Green, a pupil told them: “This is a great school and I hope when you come you have a good time like we do.”
And the team from Government education watchdog Ofsted came away agreeing with the youngster — giving the school the top possible mark and describing it as “outstanding” and “second to none”.
They added: “Pupils greatly enjoy school and flourish within this harmonious community.
“They are rightly proud of their school. They said they will be sad to leave, but realise how well they have been prepared for what lies ahead in their lives.”
Every area of the school — except one — received the top grade one mark.
The report stated: “The consistency of high quality teaching and the richness of learning experiences inspire pupils to make excellent progress. Within this outstanding picture, the provision, teaching and learning opportunities in music and information and communication technology stand out and are second to none.”
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities were also said to achieve outstandingly well. Inspectors said intolerance or aggression were unheard of in the school.
School leaders were singled out for praise for their “ambition and vision in striving for excellence”.
Headteacher Jack Hatch said: “We were delighted to be awarded ‘outstanding’ overall. The area for improvement was in pupil attendance — an area we had already begun to address, and an area which is, to an extent, out of the school’s control.”
Margaret Asquith, director of Bolton Council children’s services, said: “St Bede’s Primary School’s latest Ofsted report makes for some fantastic reading. The inspectors were clearly very impressed with the school. It shows that pupils are eager to learn and achieve high levels and that the teaching is first rate.
“I would like to offer my congratulations to all the teachers, pupils, parents, governors and school staff who worked so hard.”
