WITHINS School has appeared in the GCSE league tables for the final time.
The Breightmet school, which has since been transformed into St Catherine’s Academy, was the lowest ranked state school in Bolton in 2009.
Only 17 per cent of pupils achieved five or more A* to C grades, including the core subjects of English and maths.
But the school did have some success, with four out of five pupils gaining at least five A* to C GCSEs when the two core subjects were not included.
