FOOTBALL fans followed in the footsteps of their heroes as they lifted the FA Cup at the Reebok Stadium.

The legendary trophy is touring the country and it came to Bolton yesterday ahead of the Wanderers’ fifth-round clash with Spurs on Sunday.

Whites fans had a chance to get their hands on the cup — although they hope they will be able to watch Bolton lift the cup for real this year for the first time since 1958.

Visitors took part in a 30-minute interactive tour aimed at children, fans and families, which detailed a history of the FA Cup, including memorable goals, giant-killings and classic triumphs.

Fans also had the chance to take part in a number of games and interactive displays, including scoring a winning goal at Wembley in a virtual FA Cup final.

A spokesman for the cup tour said: “The tour gives fans the chance to sample the history, heritage and magic of the world’s most famous domestic cup competition.”
