TEENAGER Miriam Harrold is hoping to gather enough votes to win a coveted beauty pageant title.
She is looking for support from readers of The Bolton News to help her reach the finals of the Miss Teen Queen competition.
Miriam, who lives with her parents Jo and Steve and brother Tim, aged 18, in The Haulgh was spotted by talent scouts at The Clothes Show Live in Birmingham last year and entered for the competition.
Now her photograph is on a website, alongside dozens of other young hopefuls, and the two girls to receive the highest number of votes will go to the live finals, in London, in August.
Miriam, aged 16, is a year 11 pupil at Little Lever Specialist Language College.
She admits she had never considered modelling before being approached at the Clothes Show Live.
“I was on a school trip and talent scouts spotted me and when they asked me to enter the competition I decided to have a go,” she said.
Miriam, is hoping to go to university after studying A levels in religious education, German, music and maths.
But she is now keen to do more modelling.
“I really enjoyed it and it is something I would like to do more of,” she said.
Anyone who would like to vote for Miriam can do so, by text, by visiting missteenqueenuk.com and selecting the corresponding number for her.
All votes must be cast by Monday, March 15.
