WANDERERS captain Kevin Davies leads the way as he signs the One Bolton Pledge WANDERERS captain Kevin Davies leads the way as he signs the One Bolton Pledge

BOLTON Wanderers boss Owen Coyle and his first team squad have signed the One Bolton Pledge.

It was launched last week and offers people a means to demonstrate their commitment to Bolton as a welcoming and tolerant town.

The Pledge comes ahead of the planned rally by the English Defence League, and a counter demonstration by the Unite Against Fascism group, in Bolton on March 20.

Before tomorrow’s game with Wigan Athletic at the Reebok, the squad will wear special One Bolton t-shirts to raise awareness of the Pledge, which is being directly linked to the Big Bolton Fund (BBF), which supports community programmes across the borough.

Coyle said: “Our club has always been committed to welcoming players and fans from all nationalities and communities, and one of our great strengths is the togetherness we have at the club and in our community and we are pleased to support this pledge.

“We’d like to encourage all our fans to sign it too.”

The pledge, which has also been signed by Ian Savage, Editor-in-Chief of the Bolton News, can be accessed online at boltonlife.org.uk, where residents can learn all about the pledge donate money to the BBF, or by PLEDGE to 70007.

Texts cost £3, plus the cost of a standard message and £2.55 will be donated directly to the fund.
