TWO people have been taken to hospital following a car accident in Blackrod.
The extent of their injuries has yet to be established but the pair had to be cut out of a car after it collided with another vehicle on the A6 Blackrod Bypass.
Firefighters from Horwich and Chorley were called to the scene at 7.19pm today following reports that two vehicles had collided and two people were trapped.
The road was closed both ways at Station Road while emergency services carried out accident investigation work. The accident has bow been cleared and the road has reopened.
