THE future looks all white for Kevin Nolan!

The young Wanderer, eligible to play for England or the Republic of Ireland, has still to make a final commitment on his international destiny.

But his decision to play for England U-18s in a friendly next week, although still leaving his options open, has gone down well with Sam Allardyce, who has already suggested that England should snap him up at U-21 level.

"Kevin knows what I think," the Wanderers' boss says, "but that's really between me and him. In the end the choice is between himself and his father.

"I'll just say that Kevin has never visited the Republic of Ireland in his life so you can probably guess what my feelings are on the matter."

Liverpool-born Nolan, who has made a big impression in the Wanderers' midfield since coming through the club's youth ranks, will only be committed to either England or Ireland once he has played in a competitive match.

The friendly against Belgium at Bradford next Thursday does not affect his eligibility.
