PROUD soldier Lieutenant Philip Mark Naylor collected an OBE at a glittering ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Lt Naylor, originally from Blackrod, is based at Salisbury with the Corps of Royal Engineers.
He attended the ceremony with his wife, Christine, and daughters Emma and Amy and was presented with his honour by the Queen.
Lt Naylor, whose mother Enid still lives in Blackrod, is a former pupil of Rivington and Blackrod High School.
