SIR: I went to Bolton's opening game at Port Vale. Being a nice day and not too confident of victory, I though I'd make the trip all the same.
Donning my new green shirt, off we went. I state at this point that I'm a wheelchair user and had booked a place at Vale Park.
For a team that hasn't been in the top flight for a good while, all I can say is that their disabled facilities were first class! Better than ours at Burnden Park by a mile, and superior to some Premier grounds.
I praise the club because THEY know how to look after the disabled fans. What a breath of fresh air, when everything seems to revolve around money.
I strongly recommend any of our local clubs who play Vale to take a look at the disabled area. I'm certainly going to mention it to our board at Bolton, for when our new stadium is built it would be nice to think we would be afforded the hospitality we got at Port Vale.
