BURY boss Stan Ternent was keeping his cool today just 24 hours before his side could clinch promotion.

Victory at Darlington combined with Plymouth, Wigan and Hereford's failure to win their away games tomorrow would see the champagne corks pop in the Gigg Lane camp.

But a wary Ternent warned: "We still need to win some more matches.

"We don't mind how and when we get the points we need although it would be marvellous to win at Darlington in front of all the fans we will be taking."

Bury had sold their original allocation of 1,200 for tomorrow's big clash by this morning when fans began snapping up an extra allocation of 500. Ternent is expected to name an unchanged side with Ian Hughes continuing in place of hamstring victim Nicky Reid while striker Rob Matthews is likely to return to the bench after injury where Tony Rigby will also be vying for a place after serving a one-match suspension at Scunthorpe on Tuesday night.

Rivals Preston need a point at Orient tomorrow to clinch promotion while In Division Two Blackpool could strengthen hopes of an automatic promotion place if they beat leaders Swindon at home.
