I READ with concern that 200 jobs are threatened at Georgia Pacific, Mansell Way, Middlebrook, at a time when Blackrod Council recently voted against permission for a company offering 30 jobs in the area.
Bolton Council need to encourage employment and job opportunities if we are going to be able to pay the rise in council tax that they have warned us about.
Too many firms are closing down and are not being replaced, too many jobs are being lost and not being replaced, like the job losses at Victoria Mills on Chorley New Road.
