Well with less than 24 hours to go until the polls open on arguably the most eagerly-anticipated General Election in decades, the tension is mounting.

The big hitters from the various political parties are out and about in the regions today, drumming up last minute support for their respective campaigns.

The TV anchors will be testing out their swing-o-meters ready for tomorrow night's coverage while us humble hacks try and get our heads around what the heck a hung parliament is.

We'll be at the Bolton Arena tomorrow night providing comprehensive coverage of the count for the three parliamentary seats here - Bolton West, Bolton North East and Bolton South East.

I expect the nation's media will be watching us, especially as Bolton West and Bolton North East are seen as key battle grounds.

If I am honest, it is far to close to call and I certainly wouldn't want to make any hasty predictions.

During the course of the campaign, the opinions of people on the street has swung back and forth with each of the parties peaking at various points.

Even the parties which are seen as outside the "big three" - the Green Party, the You Party, UKIP, the Christian People's Alliance and the independents - have been getting positive responses on the doorsteps as people become more and more aware that there is a choice away from the mainstream.

In that respect, it really has been anyones election and tomorrow night promises to be one of excitement and drama.
