A MAN has vowed to restore his good name after being found not guilty of sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl.
Paul Bisson said the accusations had put him through a year of hell in which his property, and friends, were attacked.
Jurors decided that Mr Bisson, aged 45, of Scowcroft Street, Tonge Moor, was not guilty of five charges after a trial at Preston Crown Court.
Mr Bisson said he was delighted and relieved by the result and now wants to restore his good name.
He said: “I’ve been through this for a year and I’ve pleaded my innocence all the way along after I was falsely accused of something I didn’t do.
“I’ve had stress and worry and I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong — it’s been awful.
“People have kicked my door in and my friends have been attacked, but I’ve walked out now and held my head up high.
“I really want to thank the people who know me and stood by me through all this because they knew all along that I was innocent.”
The incident was alleged to have taken place during a party at a house in Accrington.
Mr Bisson claimed he had been falsely accused.
However, he was charged with three counts of assaulting a girl under the age of 13 and two counts of inciting a girl under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.
He was found not guilty on all five charges after two days of deliberation by the jury.
Mr Bisson said he was now planning to take legal action against his accusers.
