A SEX attack victim was admitted to hospital just hours after being forced to give evidence against the man who assaulted her.

The 20-year-old has endured 17 months of hell since Ali Hassan confronted her in his taxi, say her family.

But after the 34-yearold driver lied about the attack and claimed it never took place, his two victims — including the 20-year-old — had to give evidence in a trial where they were called liars by Hassan as he gave Bolton Crown Court his version of events.

She gave evidence against Hassan on Wednesday and was admitted to hospital suffering from stomach pains three hours later Her family blame the pressure of the trial for her condition. Hassan, of Bertrand Road, Bolton, was found guilty of sexual assault and attempted sexual assault by a jury on Friday. But the young woman’s father said the heartache will only end when Hassan is sentenced in August.

The court heard that on January 4, 2009, the woman, who was then aged 18, ordered a taxi after a night out.

Hassan picked her up from Nelson Square, Bolton, and began paying her compliments.

He asked her to get in the front but he refused, so Hassan parked up in an alley in Farnworth.

He got onto the back seat, where he touched her and kissed her neck and shoulders.

The jury heard Hassan pulled her out of the car and pressed himself up against her.

She managed to struggle free and return home. Hassan, who is married and has four young children, was arrested in May, 2009, after police matched DNA taken from a kiss on his victim’s cheek.

It then came to light that another woman had accused Hassan of attempting to sexually assault her in February, 2008. The father of the 20-year-old said: “We all just want it to be over.”
