Jailed for burglary at mosque

A BURGLAR who stole copper piping, a boiler and shower from a mosque has been jailed for 36 weeks.

David Bretherton, aged 32, of Hall Lane, Moses Gate, appeared before Bolton magistrates and pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary.

The first two counts relate to the Makka Mosque in Grecian Crescent, Bolton, which Bretherton targeted between May 24 and May 27, stealing piping and plumbing worth more than £1,000.

He also pleaded guilty to stealing a strimmer from a shed in Bolton between May 25 and May 28.

Bretherton was jailed for a total of 36 weeks.
