Post mortem of baby girl found in Bury proved inconclusive

The post mortem examination of the baby girl found in a garden in Bury has proven inconclusive.
The Home Office PM took place earlier today.
The baby girl, who is believed to be around one to two days old and is of Asian appearance, was found in the front garden of a property on Tinline Street, Bury at 11.15am on Monday.
She was found wrapped in a blue and white striped shawl.
Paramedics called to the house confirmed the baby had died.
The post mortem examination showed the baby was born alive but died following the birth.
Further tests are being conducted to discover her age.
Detective Superintendent Sam Haworth of GMP's Major Incident Team said: "We are more than 24 hours after the little girl was found and we are still no closer to identifying the mother.
"I understand that she must be extremely scared at the moment, but the most important thing is for her to get the necessary medical and psychological care she needs following this.
"I am appealing directly to the local community to come to us with any information you may have, what you tell us will be treated in the strictest of confidence."
