DANNY Shittu’s move to Celtic appears to have hit the rocks after the defender refused a week’s trial.
The Nigeria international, who was released by Wanderers last week, is also attracting interest from Leicester City and Middle East outfit Al-Ahli, managed by ex-Leeds boss David O’Leary.
Reports in Scotland claim Shittu has rejected the chance to prove his fitness in Glasgow.
But the player himself seems confident of finding first-team football, following his disappointing spell at the Reebok.
“Contrary to negative reports about what happened between me and Bolton, God has destined me to join a team that would put smiles on my face and that of my fans,” said the big defender.
“I have some offers in England and some top ones too in Europe and I am confident that within a week, I will duly announce my preferred club.
“The most important thing for me is to join a club that will make me happy and also give me playing time so that I will be able to enjoy football the way I used to.”
