A PRISON officer has been arrested over allegations he harassed inmates' relatives.
The 41-year-old man was questioned after prisoners at HMP Forest Bank in Salford and their families complained.
Hundreds of men and youths from Bolton are on remand or serving sentences at the 600-capacity jail.
The officer has been arrested and bailed by detectives investigating nuisance phone calls to prisoners' wives and girlfriends.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said that a a 41-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of misuse of telecommunications systems.
