Time is running out to save theatre church for community

THE clock is ticking to save Theatre Church.

A “For Sale” sign has been erected outside the building in Seymour Road, Astley Bridge, and agents Miller Metcalfe are now inviting sealed bids.

Campaigners have until May to raise as much money as possible to try to keep the building for community use.

A “Save Theatre Church” campaign has been set up, and CATS Youth Theatre, which uses the venue, has been granted charitable status to help the fundraising bid.

Paul Cohen, chairman of CATS, is appealing for anyone who can help them raise money and fill out grant applications to get in touch.

Mr Cohen said: “It is like the clock is ticking now; we need as many grant applications and as much fundraising as possible.”
