A CANNABIS farmer who pleaded guilty and then went on the run for five months has been jailed.

Christopher King had been arrested after police were called to a burglary at Waterloo Industrial Road in Darbishire Street, Tonge Moor.

Three men were seen running away by a member of the public at 11.30pm on November 29, 2010, and when officers arrived they found the unit insecure.

Inside officers discovered a sophisticated cannabis farm, Bolton Crown Court was told.

There were 50 empty cannabis pots in one room and a second room with 74 growing plants.
