THE organiser of a sellout diamond jubilee concert is still waiting to hear back from one guest — The Queen.

The star of the show — a Frank Sinatra tribute act — once performed in front of Queen Elizabeth at her golden jubilee celebrations, so Ken Chasity is hoping she will respond.

The 69-year-old painter and decorator has been organising sell-out concerts for 25 years, which have raised almost £50,000 for various charities.

He says the whole of Horwich is “buzzing” about the latest concert, on June 9, at the Horwich RMI Club, in Ramsbottom Road, in aid of Bolton Hospice.

It features the Mersysidebased Frank Sinatra tribute act, David Knopov. He performs as Perfectly Frankand and entertained the Queen 10 years ago.

“I sent the Queen two tickets, which should have arrived last Wednesday.

“I don’t think she’ll come for one minute, but you never know because she went to that wedding in Manchester.

“I think she must get hundreds of letters from people asking her to things.

“Hopefully, if her private secretary shows her the ticket then she should recognise Perfectly Frank,”

he said.

The concert is not the first one Mr Chasity has organised to honour the Queen.

In 2002, he held a golden jubilee concert, with Smithills Brass Band.

At the time he wrote to the Queen and was delighted to receive a letter thanking him, which is framed on a wall at his home in George Street.

All 260 tickets for the concert, part of the Horwich Festival of Racing, have been sold.

Mr Chasity is hoping it will raise £1,000 for Bolton Hospice.

He said: “It is going to be a fantastic night, it really will be outstanding, a night to remember for everybody.”
