CHANCELLOR George Osborne is facing criticism from some Conservatives after pledging nearly £10 billion in further UK loans to the International Monetary Funds.

The money is part of a global effort to boost the IMF’s capacity to lend to troubled economies, including the euro zone.

But his own Tory MP Douglas Carswell called the move “IMF bailout bull”. Mr Carswell said the loan makes you wonder how all those earlier bailouts have worked out.

Fellow Tory backbencher Peter Bone said the decision was bonkers and any efforts to prop up the euro zone were a waste of time Britain can lend that money to other countries in financial stress, with the aim of creating global financial stability and a sounder footing for the world economic recovery.

But the latest UK pledge has proved very unpopular with some members of Mr Osborne’s Conservative Party, who had been urging him not to sign up to an increase.

I agree with some of the Conservative MPs.

Britain is struggling to pay off its debts; we wouldn’t have this extra financial burden if we didn’t allow the Conservative government to deny us their election-promised EU membership referendum that was nothing but an election ploy to win votes.

Pensioners must pay more tax, people must work longer until they retire, etc. because we are in such a financial state, yet we can lend £10 billion to the IMF. It doesn’t make sense.

How the hell can we afford this ridiculous amount of money when there is talk of stopping free school dinners for children.

This money needs to stay in this country, not end up half way around the world.

British people do not go to work and expect to prop up foreign countries with their income tax.

We expect the money to be spent in this country on British people. Osborne you are a disgrace.
