THREE men who are accused of posing as police officers in a series of robberies across the North West have appeared in court this morning.
It follows a raid on a house in Riverside Drive, Stoneclough, which was taped off for three days while police searched inside.
Richard Clancy, aged 25, of Crescent Drive, Little Hulton, and Matthew Cheston, aged 30, of Barchester Avenue, Breightmet, are charged with conspiracy to rob, robbery and burglary.
Conor Smith-MacPhee, aged 18, Halton Bank, Salford is charged with conspiracy to rob, robbery and possession of a firearm.
They appeared at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court today.
No bail application was made and they were remanded in custody until May 28, when they will appear at Manchester Crown Court.
