A CHARITY to help babies and children with heart problems has won the support of Bolton Wanderers .

Lagan’s Foundation, set up in memory of a baby girl who died from a cardiac condition, has become an “associate charity” of the club.

In the coming year, the club will support the charity’s fundraising efforts.

Co-founder of Lagan’s Foundation, Carren Bell, said: “This is a huge step forward for the charity.

“The charity has come so far in a year, it is unbelievable.” Miss Bell set up Lagan’s Foundation with her partner Barry Grant in memory of their daughter Lagan Katherine Anne Grant.

Lagan was born in January 11 last year, but died on April 26 from a congenital heart defect (CHD).

They, together with their other children, Ceridwen, aged 10, and baby Lochlyn who was born in March, live in Horwich .

The charity provides help for families with children who have CHD and/or suffer from feeding difficulties through a bank of trained volunteers.

Lagan’s Foundation is hosting its first fundraising event in conjunction with the club’s charitable arm, Bolton Wanderers Community Trust.

A spectacular winter ball with a Moulin Rouge-theme will take place on November 17 at the Premier Suite Reebok Stadium from 7pm until 1am.

It follows the huge success of the Masquerade Ball organised by Lagan’s Foundation last year.

Miss Bell said: “It should be a good evening. People are invited to wear as little or as much as they want.

“The last ball we had sold out, and people were asking then when the next one will be .”
