AN INVESTIGATION is being demanded by a Bolton MP into why falling oil prices have not been passed on to drivers.
Bolton North East MP David Crausby has written to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to question why petrol prices are still high despite the falling cost of oil.
He is asking the OFT to initiate an investigation into oil companies for what he called ‘anti-competitive behaviour’.
The price of oil dropped 28 per cent between April and June but the average cost of petrol at the pumps only fell by five per cent the MP claimed.
Mr Crausby said: “The high cost of fuel is hurting local businesses and families.”
